2011 December Holidiva Day

 Buffy would be the hostess for our 2011 Holidiva day and she was taking her position seriously..

"I've narrowed it down to 4 recipes after perusing my library of cook books...here they are:

Braised Pork Tenderloin with Green Chilies
Mustard and Sage Crusted Pork Loin w/Roasted Red Apple Sauce
Roast Pork with Autumn Fruit
Filet of Beef w/Gorgonzola Sauce"

The winner via email was Mustard & Sage crusted pork loin. While Buffy moved ahead with her plans, the other Divas of the Dirt
decided what to bring as sides.

Mindy had the Holidiva spirit:

We showed up with the side dishes for the banquet and gifts for the grab bag

Buffy's dining room looked festive and beautiful

Mindy brought a Brie appetizer and the ingredients for Pointsettias.

Sugar, Karla and Annie have been friends for years 

Glinda and Buffy are happy to be here

Sophia raises a Pointsettia in a toast to friendship 

Mattie lends a hand, dishing up the apples Buffy made to go with the pork 

The amazing Brie, Pomegranate & Walnut appetizer from Mindy

With salad from Karla as the starter, we find out Buffy has made each of us a beautiful ornament 

They'll be treasured! 

The baked apple bowls, filled with seasoned applesauce, are labor intensive but so pretty

At left center: dangerously delicious, buttery potato leaves from Sugar, and at bottom is Buffy's Sage & Mustard Pork Loin 

 A plate filled with these delicious dishes looks beautiful, but not too beautiful to eat!

 We take the dessert into the living room (Glinda made the traditional Amaretto Bread Pudding). Libby the Westie is glad to have her Buffy within reach while Mattie's friendly dog Barbie visits with Annie.

Now Barbie makes friends with Sugar... maybe this pup should be called Miss Congeniality?

We play the gift-stealing grab bag game - Mindy likes this watering can, but will she get to keep it?

The last bag is large, bulky & intriguing... know what was inside?

As an echo to the November project, this gift was a hypertufa mixing tub & supplies... someone has more messy fun in store.

We Divas of the Dirt had a very good day together in December of 2011 - see you in 2012!
